I recently was given a chest of tools from the estate of a friend's stepfather. He was a machinist, and there are some fine calipers and hand tools there. I love cutlery, and there are two knives that I'm really happy to have found. One is a kitchen knife, very old, with a 11" blade - a real Norman Bates blade! It is in good shape and still has a fair edge. The other is a Cattaraugus 225Q commando knife, vintage about 1942. The blade is 6" long and in pretty good shape. It has a little pitting on one side, and there are some small nicks in the edge that could easily be sharpened away. It's a very heavy and robust knife. The sheath is missing. I see auction prices on these knives that are all over the map. I'd like to be able to get $75-100 for it. Does that seem unreasonable? Anyone into old cutlery?

Some pictures would help with estimating a value.
Having no sheath will knock a price down a bit.

You might check the sold prices on Ebay, but it's in decent shape.
I think it'd be worth $25 minimum.
