There has been trouble around the fat balls and peanut feeders recently. Holes appearing in the string nets that hold the peanuts and big chunks being taken from the fat balls. It seems an undesirable element has moved into town and is upsetting the locals. But today the culprit messed up and was caught in the act, thing is, he or she, is a cheeky little bugger. It's saving grace is that there aren't too many around this way, so I'll give it a pass :laughing7:

Sounds like a personal problem to me :laughing9:......NGE

A fat ball really speaks for itself, a ball of fat with bird seed added, then put in a mesh holder. You just hang it from a tree and bingo the small birds luv em.
Ian as much as I like your pictures those little critters made a home in our house loft last year, they had knawed thru the faschia, thru the guttering, and into the loft. Cost us an "arm and a leg" getting rid of them and replacing the damage they had done. So I am not on "good terms" with grey squirrels at the moment.
BTW I don't do any detecting now Ian, my detecting is all done at car boot sales, charity shops, and the likes. Have picked up some nice porcelian along the way. But if yous all down this way sometime you are welcome to call for a good "ole cuppa". Think you and my hubby will have something in common job wise  One of my sons also. :icon_thumleft: :hello: Mind Brum isnt such a good place for metal detecting, but Alcester, near bye had a Roman village.

Nice weather wer'e having lately eh?

suet or "fat" --you take a wad of fat and mix in bird seed --many birds like it as it provides extra "fuel" for them --fat * food wize speaking is pure energy "stored" in its a solid form .

a nice quiet little beeman pellet rifle will solve the problem * -- hes a older one , a bit tough ,so have to stew em down --serve him up like you would ---chicken and dumplings.

Best advice yet, Ivan. I own the venerable Beeman RS2, with both barrels, And the 4X32 airgun scope. Awesome git up. Great break barrel action, only requires 35lbs. pressure to cock , but after loaded, and the first shot rings out.....BAM!!!!! You'll not see any critters for the rest of the day :hello2: :laughing7:..........NGE Or, you could just call...... 1-800-Monty

or live trap it and send it to him as a "christmas present" ;D

Let 'im eat crow!
