Even living in NY, you do get a chance to rub elbows with some celebrities. Here are some that I have met. Have you ever run into any?

Bette Middler Copacabana Nightclub, NYC talkative and funny

Mohammad Ali Copacabana Nightclub, NYC ditto

Dan Laura Father, The Wonder Years Golf course upstate, NY was having a bad round

Gene Wilder Cruise in Mexico.. not friendly, or funny for that matter

Dan Aykroyd Funny, talkative and gave me an autograph

John Lennon Funny & talkative... I never even thought about getting his autograph

I met Matt Damon in LA once when he was working on a movie and my girlfriend and I were on vacation.

I met Hulk Hogan in Florida once too, but only said "What's up brother?" to him. He seems like a nice guy.

I met Dan Akroyd when he was in Raleigh advertising his brand of alcohol at the ABC store. He seemed like an alright guy to.

Steven Tyler from Arrowsmith - Met him in a private airport. Just exchanged "Hello's". He was friendly.
Shaquille O'Neal - Ran into him in a public airport. He was sitting in the first aisle seat in first class when he got on the plane. He said "Hi" to everyone boarding, and seemed especially nice to the kids.

Vinnie DiMaggio ex ball player, brother of Joe was real nice and spoke of his brother and Marilyn Monroe !!

The Dropo brothers, big ball players during the 1950's, nice guys all.

Larry Bird, friend of my parents who used to golf with him and his brother.

Mr. Willie Jeffries former Head Coach of SC State University, family friend.

Herm Winningham,Pro Baseball Player,and went to school with his younger
brother.

Met many of the old school wrestlers back in the 1980's as we attended the matches every Tuesday nights.They used to talk with the fans after matches.

Patsy (his personal asst) told us later that we have maybe the last autographs he ever signed.

HAHAHA Knocking out Vedder got me on MTV News.

Ellen's brother Vance said the same thing. How it happened was Vance was in a band called "The Cold". AWESOME New Wave Band in New Orleans in the late 1970s-1980s. I was 16 at the time and in lust with the lead singer (Barbara Menendez see pic). I put on my best British accent and went to see them at Tipitina's. I said that I was writing a story on them for Teen Beat (or maybe Mersey Beat) Magazine. Vance came to the door and let me in back stage. After the show, we all went back to Vance's House, where he introduced me to his sister.

Years later Vance was working on the Daily Show with John Stewart. I emailed him and told him the whole story. He said they always wondered why that story never showed up in the magazine. HAHAHA

Last year I met Tommy Smothers at the Oakland Airport in Calif. while standing in the security line. Great guy, was very open to talk to. He was flying down to Vegas to do a show with his brother Dick at the time. Great experience to actually talk to somebody that famous. I remember watching the Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour show on CBS back in the 1960's when I was a kid.

Merle Haggard, I was a teen hanging out all the time at a local pool hall when the owner asked me if I wanted to earn a few bucks to go help recover a table, since I helped him with the tables in the hall. Turned out to be at Merle Haggards house near here...he tips with the green, and I don't me cash.
