This week has been a stressful one especially with the horrible news of my 26 year old sister and digging partner being diagnosed with cancer . It seems the C word us being thrown around a lot latley. So yesterday I went out to scout out a new site and clear my head. So after a mile hike down an old wagon road I found a new cellar hole. I was going to detect but I've had no patience for it lately. I noticed there was a lot if glass around the well so naturally I started to scratch around this ended up paying off. Here's the take first I found the doct Marshall's snuff a crude slick and my favorite a crude whittled GDe koning Tilley vial. A few common finds but a good dig. Thanks for looking- Justin

Thank you bass it means a lot. The doct marshalls snuff is the second one I have dug but the embossing is different on this one. Which date range is this one? The other one I believe is 1890s.

Sorry to hear about your sister Justin, puts it all in perspective... She's in my prayers man

Thank you Jim and Matt it means a lot really. Five years ago we watched our father die from the same cancer. I just need to stay strong to keep her strong. I'm no stranger to the disease she's strong and has youth she can fight this.

Half of the battle is catching it in the early stages

IMO, the one you recently dug is the older version of the 2 although i don't think there's much age difference. Just my opinion

Justin... I'm terribly sorry to hear the news about your sister. I hope and pray that it was discovered in time. Take her out digging and spend as much quality time together as you can. Hope all goes well for her. Bottle digging together... priceless! Take lots of pictures too.

I feel for you, RelicDude, and wish the best for your Sis. Do you also MD these cellar holes, or just go after the old bottles?

Thanks Wayne I plan on spending a lot of time with her. We're planning a dig at a rural farm from the 1770s that I just received permission to dig. The owner told me there's two dumps on the property. And thank you relicmiester I do detect I run a mine lab etrac for some reason this season I don't have patients for it. Ill most likely detect this area in the fall the bugs are already really terrible.

Love those bottles! Very sad about your sister. So many things factor in, when thinking about recovery and so on. But I think attitude, faith, and good support-like you- are way high up on the list. Wishing all good things, my friend in nw Ct. Yak
