Hi all, I am an avid metal detector. I am retired and fortunate to be able to travel this beautiful country full time with my wife.

Whenever I will be in an area for a while, I reach out to local MD’ers and try to put together a hunt or two. I have met some great people this way and had some enjoyable outings.

Starting next month, we will be Volunteering at Lake of the Ozarks, MO. We will be in the area for three months. I have visited and detected in the area in the past and had some good hunts. I am hoping to find someone within a reasonable drive to talk to about the possibility of putting a hunt or two together.

Give me a shout if you are interested in putting a hunt together.

I got permission for an old, defunct bluegrass festival site. I did a quick 20 minute test hunt (too hot this afternoon). 7 coins, 3 from the early/mid 1960's. Nothing newer than 1993.

I suspect with a little effort, I should pull some silver!

Happy hunting all!

Well, found lots of old clad and memorial cents. Missed silver by a few years on half a dozen coins. Close but no cigar. We have moved on th Lake of the Ozarks. Will keep on swinging. Hit me up if you are in the area!

Glad to see you're getting out and enjoying retirement. Good luck and keep the coil to the soil.

Howdy azdirtdigger. I am about 35 minutes north of you. I have taken a four-month hiatus from digging for personal issues, but am ready to get "back in the swing of it" so to speak. Welcome to Central MO, it's a great place here.

Good luck on your trip.:icon_thumright:

Hi Midmo, shoot me a pm if you want to put a hunt together.

Got out today with a local for a hunt. Finally broke my silver drought with a 1926 Merc. If anyone is near Lebanon, you should plug into Laclede County Treasure Trackers. A great group of people.

Thanks for the link, I sent them a request. They are the closest treasure hunting club to my location.

They have a club hunt planned for Oct 27th. It is open for non members. It would be a great opportunity to meet everyone.

If you end up in Springfield on a weekend let me know, if you don't mind going back in the brush :icon_thumright:

Thanks for the offer, but our time here is about done. We head out Sunday for warmer weather. (read that as SOUTH). Son in law is stationed at Fort Leonard Wood, so will probably be back in the areas.
