Chain of events lands a 1700's site, bling, bells, and wheat!

Oldjerseygirl and I went to that old town Iv'e been hunting. We decided that neither one of us felt like looking for the 1600's house under that eagle that I had seen yesterday (although we did have a run in with a snake) . We had looked at the maps again and figured it was allot further, so we went to where it showed another old house long gone on the edge of a soybean field that Becky remembered a base ball field in it too. So I knock on the farmers door, the brother pulls up and said, " yeah take those Geiger counters over there and have fun" So we go over and started "Geiger counting" when I look up and see an old woman bum rushing me. Ha, thought she was going to interrogate me when she started smiling. She starts out with, " a few years back I lost my gold earring......" Few minutes later we were relocated in this very nice Quaker couples yard looking for her earring. Hour and a half later, no luck. He asked the neighbor if we could metal detect there and the guy said yes, at a later date. I gave the owners my contact info, showed them what I found, be back there later.

I found a 1920 and 1939 wheaties, a bling thing, and it must of been bell day?
Enjoy the pix.

Thanks guys, the neighbors place was the original Wawa (of course you might have to be from Jersey to know these stores) this is your proverbial "general store"

Also the first place goes to the root of the town, this owner almost owns it all.

Wish I had a bell book, ha the one looks really old.

That is a very nice looking bell. I'd be curious to know the age of it

Your bell actually reminds me of a camel bell. Early in the Civil War camels instead of horses were used to haul stuff around but the buggers were so nasty and mean they switched to horses and pack mules.

Wonderful bells you found! So tell me, were these attached to animals so you could keep track of them? Or on horses or wagons so you could hear them coming? Don't laugh at my lack of knowledge. Asking questions is how I gain it.
