I went "relic hunting" in Charleston SC over the weekend. There were several Tnet guys there.

The pic with the pottery is from TBD's banner slave tag site. As you can see, he found all of the good stuff, all I got was a free lesson in metal detecting!

The other pics are from a hunt at an old plantation site. The best thing was a bridle decoration with hooks on the back. I also got a giant flat button, harmonica reed piece, square nails and a lock part.

I have a new respect for you relic hunters, that was one tough hunt, trudging through the woods!

This was from yesterday, very long walk in the woods! :-)

What's up "Iron Toes Tom"! Nice relics. The buckle is awesome. Were those pottery shards from the surface or found while digging?

Cheers bud

CT you found some good relics and found out why I like stomping around in the woods this time of year. When I get them cleaned up I'll post your Kicker Large Cents. And good luck with your career as the Panthers backup field goal Kicker.

That's a nice 18th century bridal decoration Tom.

Thanks Scrap! The shards were all over the top of the ground, along with three hundred years of trash!

Nice bridal piece and that's one big honking button you got there

Nice meeting you and the Carolina boys on Monday, conditons were ruff but still beats working

Very nice meeting you too. A lot better than work actually!
Best of luck to you this year!

Hey you did a lot better than you said. Just because you didn't find coins doesn't mean it was a bad day-that bridle piece is really good find.

Nice digs Tom, I bet your glad you hunted those sites of opportunity on your way there. I like to dig a cool relic or two, but my passion lies with coins and tokens.

Awesome finds. My wife just got that ornamental but hers was broken. Great save!

I heard you guys had a good time Tom. And nice job on that leather ornament. We find that style up here too, and they're always a nice addition to any colonial collection.

You've got that right. To me it's all about the history and finding a coin is just icing on the cake.

MAN WHAT NEAT FINDS .

I really like that bridle ornament Tom.
And it was really nice seeing you down on your side for a change.
Them woods kicked are butts huh?
I got home to a couple inches of snow so I'm done for the winter.
