Charlie Kirk on a US Silver Dollar--coming soon??

US President Donald Trump's close aide, Charlie Kirk, was shot dead earlier this month in Utah while talking about mass shootings. Now, according to a GOP proposal, Kirk may appear on US currency. He may appear on a mintage of 400,000 special silver dollar coins. The proposal was made by two House Republican lawmakers, August Pfluger from Texas and Abe Hamadeh from Arizona. The duo is planning to introduce the bill later this week.

I would love to see it although I would rather it be a much larger run and a more commonly used coin. Nothing against collectibles but I think it would serve better in every American's pocket as a reminder of what Charlie believed and preached.

If they actually make them out of silver (not clad), they'd go for way more than that.

I may be in the minority on this one, but I don't like adding that phrase. Trying not to get religious about it, but that's a bible verse spoken from a master to his servant (with the obvious correlation to the higher power). The government is not Charlie's master, and he was not the government's servant -- and I have absolutely no doubt he would agree with that statement. So having that phrase on there just seems wrong. It strikes me as government elevating itself to a place it doesn't belong.

Modern silver commemorative coins do nothing for me.
Give me the classics, Columbus, Plymouth Tercentenary, Booker T, stuff from 20s and 30s…
Post 1982, Olympics, stuff like that….no interest.

Yes, it is required since 1956 by federal law to be on all US currency, coin and paper. Trying to keep post from violating our rules on politics and religion so, it was passed due to the Cold War to demonstrate America was a nation of faith vs the atheism of Communism.

Agreed but The Sellers allways add a Preamium That is Very Hard to Reach in a Persons Lifetime

Depends on premium. A hundred dollar premium on 1oz gold coin on Jan1st 2024 would be a steal compared to today's price increase of over $1600.

From $2,074 on 1/1/24 to $3,750 now

Civil war silver commemoratives. The silver commemoratives are struck much better than business strikes used daily. I just need the US Grant silver to complete the civil war issues.
