Went to check on a spot I was working last fall before the rains and the hole I was working in a Squirrel had dug an 8" round drift mine putting all his tailings in a nice dry pile for me - about 10 Gallons picture shows results.
Another cool thing was in that pile while scooping it up I uncovered a legless lizard first one I have ever seen and caught - released unharmed.
I also tested other Squirrel Mounds and they all had gold also so it looks like I have a new mining partner and he/she does not even want to split the gold.

So check those Squirrel Mounds.
Cheers Mike

Good one. I always check animal excavations. Once I checked the dig out of an echidna and detected a nice little nugget it dug out. But unfortunately for me that's the last time it ever worked for me. Has been a habit ever since. That was 25 yrs ago.

I have lots of legless lizards & squirrel's holes but No gold around my parts . for who have never seen a legless lizard here is a Pic.
