Chicken Hawk

A.K.A. Coopers Hawk.This vicious raptor tears through our woods at 30+ mph dodging big branches and smashing through smaller ones to kill its prey, usually other birds. Difficult Hawk to I.D. and photo, I'm still trying to get a good shot . My wife took these killer shots early one morning last week while he was hunting in our backyard. Thanks for looking.

The shots you got are pretty good. My son has a falconry license and hunts mostly with Redtails. It's somethin to see those hawks on a hunt.

Thanks for the comments. They are rare shots, I've been tring for a long time to get a shot. This is the best I could get.

We have a lot of hawks around here and I have never seen one of those. That's a beautiful bird and a great catch.
