Chilkoot Trail

The Chilkoot trail is the road used by the gold rush miners from Skagway, to the Yukon. Thousands of miners used the trail. It is now within the Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park, and is a hiking trail.
Is metal detecting permitted on the trail, and has anyone ever detected it?

Since it crosses two National Parks and a border, I don't think so. You're not even allowed an open fire.

The Chilkoot Trail is protected both on the Alaska side and the Canadian side. Nothing can be touched. It is well watched by park rangers.
