You may wish to start your search for an answer here: Identify your Chinese coins Don..... PS: Any chance you're related to Jim Cobb who worked at Redman Industries in Dallas 30+ years ago?

Thanks for your help Don!

No I don't have anyone in my family named by Jim

Very interesting!

I know this website has very good info on Chinese cash coins. You know the side of the coin with only 2 charactor, well the one on the right in called a "BOO" which means it was minted in the Ch-ing Dynasty. Your coin is pretty worn so I had a hard time IDing it, but I supposed it will be easier to ID if you have it in hand. NOTE: One of the 12 coins on this link has to be yours.

coins of china, the Ch'ing Dynasty of titles

The reverse (two verus four charactes) is definitely Boo Ciowan (Board of Revenue mint). The Manchurian mint name (image on the right) translates to "Pao-Ch'uan', or The Fountain head of the Currency.
If I took a guess on the obverse, I'd opt for this one:
chching10.jpg
Emperor JEN TSUNG
AD 1796-1820

Reign title: CHAI-CH'ING, AD 1796-1820

Turns yours 90 degrees clockwise to get the proper alignment for the obverse.
Don......

Different and cool find.

You just never know what's gonna' turn up next do you??
