Hi everyone,late this afternoon i went to the local chinese camp at place called the Dai Gum San[mountain of gold] .Very humid today and exspecting rain tonight.Starting to get a little warm[ about 90 deg] today.There's a government defence factory above the old chinese camp and taking of pics is forbidden.I been here many times and i don,t find alot of coins but the site does give up very interesting chinese relics.The camp was first settle in 1852 by about 3000 chinese and most stayed until the fall of the imperial chinese empire in 1911.There was large camp and boosted many shops and houses built in chinese tradition.Today theres little left just alluvial and shallow lead mines scattered along the creek and a few old stone footings.Heep of tailing dumps.In these old swallow mines there usally good finds to be had but there a fair amount of digging to do.Theres no gold left here the chinese where the best alluvial goldminers of all.Well i tried my luck at few spots and dug and tried to find scatterings of shards.Got lucky at one spot and i found this tiny brown terra-cotta pottery monkey which i believe to be a charm for the Year of the Monkey {1848-9}.The monkey is of chinese origin and i also found this seem-less hand made glass medicine.{origin unknown}

I still working out the soft-ware on the new camera and the chinese charm is less than inch long.I have done my best to get a pic.

Nice finds, would love a little bit of the heat here in Ohio haha.

Try putting your camera in the close up mode. That helps and it will focus better.

I think it has a tulip on it, at least mine does. Good Luck and thanks for posting the pictures you
have. Good luck in your next hunt.
