Twas the night before Christmas,
and all through the land.
Detectors were waiting,
all close at hand.
I pushed on the button, and what did i hear.
That sweet mellow tone, that sounded so dear.
I put on my boots,my coat, and my hat.
grabbed extra batteries,in case mine went flat.
I went out the door, with an old place in mind.
But i was not concerned, with what i would find.
A pop tab,a ring,a coin,or a token.
My desire to dig, just could not be broken.
I finally decided to give it a rest,i had give it my all,now i needed a rest.
I have written this poem, cause i just need to say,
Merry Christmas to all,and have a nice day.

Another guy replied:

so out of the driveway he sped with a flash
it was just down the road, soon he'd be digging some cash
when he found the location he locked up his brakes
he knew he'd soon be hearing the sound deep silver makes
so he threw open the door and tuned the machine
he thought to himself, Man I'm living the dream
but after four hours of pull tabs and wire
his fun meter was pegged and he was ready to retire
so he drove back home wondering just what went wrong
walked in the door and heard the same old song
it was the one that was always sang by his wife
" Honey when are you ever gonna get a life " ?.....
