Honest Injun. Just a chunk tossed aside. Dunno if it was part of an old stock pile or Actually, your probably right but it was VERY heavy. Couldn't hold it up for more than a few seconds.

How about using your critical eye upon the other posting I have. What is the green skin on top of the quartz? Would like to read your assessment. No. I'm not trying to be rude or abusive. perhaps you have seen this phenomenon before.

Silver is what opened up this country. Oddly enough, it was mostly Americans that tramped around these hills and scratched out holes in the rock. Area is called "The Silvery Slocan."

Can't really see too much from the photo. What is it? Native silver? Ore of silver?

Looks more like galena or sphalerite to my trained eye.
