I saw this in a thrift store and my heart skipped a beat as I was thinking of the 14 karat gold one found by someone on this site a few months ago. Alas it is 1/20th 12 karat gold but at 19.5 g has a melt value of approximately $17. I paid $2.99. I should be getting close to my 500g gold filled minimum for sending it in for recycling.

Yeah, that does remind me of the one MJ found! Cool find. Belts and hats are pathetic here, so congrats to you.

I have been checking belts for a couple months now. This was the first. What confuses me is the Date Mark on the tag it says June but i've been to this TS at least five times or more since June and did not see it. Hmmm!

That happens to me ALL the time!!! I always say, when it's meant to be, it's meant to be. And it will just sit and wait and wait, right?

Neat find. If you don't mind a rookie question, what exactly does 'gold filled' mean and how is that different that 'gold plated'?

That's pretty cool never saw one of those before!

Imagine two thin layers of gold foil sandwiching a piece of brass. if you do a Google search they give you a really good explanation.

Knowledge is key. Quick cash on goldfilled scrap anytime. I dump smaller amounts on ebay when I gather a little bit up.
