Now that all the snow is gone, I decided to head back into the woods that produced nearly all my good finds last year. I hunted for a few hours last night in intermittent rain. Since i've been searching the area so good, there's almost nothing left. Key word is 'almost' because I found a semi key 1888 liberty nickel, a St Ignatius Loyola medal that once was gold plated, I see just a sparkle left, a modern pin, an old bottle cap that was patented in 1888, and a heavy round whatsit, as well as a few pieces of copper wire not posted due to size. There is still a large part of woods I haven't touched, and I've heard from some of my friends that there may be an abandoned mini graveyard. I have the nickel soaking in some warm water since the dirt was coming off easily, and I see a nice LIBERTY with my loupe under the dirt. I'm going back again tonight!

I wish I would have been into md'ing when I was at CIA. Those grounds have some excellent history.

Nice finds

Is this the same site that Ryan's dogs almost got you a few months back? Have you added pepper spray to your list of things to carry ;D

Maybe the old gravesite is where Jimmy Hoffa is... One never knows about those things!

Thanks for sharing and good luck with future finds in the woods.
