Best smoke I have to say was likely a machine rolly I purchased in Toronto a knock of Cuban Bolivar but made in the Dominican instead, back in 2000, best smoke ever, notes of coffee slight chocolate dry hay, hints of vanilla, not like your normal Bolivar every note in it very enjoyable, not like I have today, bought a box of Bolivar Belicosos Finos Cubans from the US, not up to par even by a bit, I did smoke a Por Larranaga Longsdale when I was in Toronto again very very good cigar, could have been a Dominican version as well, I prefer Dominican over Cuban depending on the vintage year, and where you are getting them from most important..
Had my mom bring back Cuban Monte Ciristo's Especial's a few years back did not like them trying to get rid of them still, but did smoke all of my H.Upmann up in a hurry in the tubes they were in..not bad but not great either.
If I were going to go to the Dominican or Cuba I would sample next time before buying up a box or even to bring back. Makes a whole world of difference and way worth it, I threw away $600.00 after duty and Canadian exchange to experience what I did when I bought my 2 boxes worth, so buyer beware.
Thanks for listening.
