Hello friends and fellow treasurehunters. Decided to go back to this old homesite here in Shamokin, that dates back to around 1900. Didn't find any coins BUT found alot of other stuff.

What do you think this is? A brooch? money clip? any ideas?

Also, can anybody ID the hallmark which says STERLING beside it on the left and the number 316 stamped on the right side. What does 316 mean? Thanks for your help..................Rich

Great find! Kind of looks like a hair clip.

It is a ladies dress buckle. Nice one, too!

I believe the "L" has the little hash mark thru it making it the "pounds" symbol.

Also, that mark on the left kind of looks like a cursive L, in which case it might be made by La Pierre Mfg, started in 1898 and now a part of International Silver. I suspect the 316 is a model/product number.

Ironically, this site is in Coal Township. :laughing7::laughing7: Check out that old house on the left hand side past Walmart. It's whats left of the village of Maysville.
