Civil War Brass? Part of a Gag Swivel?
**UPDATE - I believe its part of a gag swivel for a horse harness, per what I saw on another forum.
I did some volunteer "archeology" on a historic site today, with permission of course. All finds were given to the museum. This site saw intense Civil War activity. This brass piece looks period and somewhat familiar - any ideas? Thanks!

Also found a nice 1929 Buffalo Nickel.
