Need help identifying these two items. Both were dug in and around several bullets and buttons, the key looking item was broken off but I can see a couple threads left where it broke, the other item is copper/brass with a wood pole inside, can see where it was boke off, one end is threaded, the small nail is backing out. Thx in advance for your ideas, HH

Unfortuantely, you did not include a ruler in the photo to show the object's size.

So, without that very important information, all I can do is give you the best guess I can. The tubular item appears to be part of an umbrella's shaft.

To help with the keylike item, please provide size-measurements.

For anybody who doesn't already know:
Yes, there were lots of umbrellas around during the civil war era ...and even some soldiers (probably officers. mostly) had them. We dig civil war era umbrella-parts frequently in the soldiers' camps.

Its 1 3/8" long, handle is 1 1/4" wide, but was longer at one time, a couple of threads left, thx

Not sure on either pic... the top could be part of the umbrella as listed above, the bottom pic looks like it could be a fuse key but without a ruler beside it, its hard to tell, nice finds either way

The first picture looks like the end of a wooden ramrod, but the measurements you gave don't have the diameter. Monty

Monty is hot on the trail (as usual), you have the push and pull ends of a cleaning rod.
