Civil War Button, Musketballs, Jaw Harp, Lots of Bizarre "Stuff" - 1683 Mass Property

Hi friends,

John got himself a new pair of headphones, and it's like he's never metal detected on the property before! Crazy the amount of stuff he's pulling up (half of which we have no clue--look like homemade twisted carvings with faces on them, but things we can't duplicate on photos). Also found a pretty sweet Civil War button. Thanks for looking and happy hunting! ~Lisa & John

Very nice button! I've been metal detecting for over 4 years and never found a Civil War button. Not a common find here in New England.

Thanks, Tim--our first CW button. Usually our stuff is much older (and in worse condition!). L&J

he must be so happy, he be doin' the "square-nail dance"
spotted a reins guide (the loop thingy), and a wick adjuster shaft for a gas lamp.
be sure John doesn't play with his bullets & Balls too much---- dey are bein' lead, ya' know.

lots of Pebbles :laughing7: in the Flintstone collection 8-)

the General Service CW is a great candidate for electrolysis to reveal the marks & details ( 2 minutes should do fine, then a baking soda/toothbrush to bring a big grin to youze all) :icon_thumleft::icon_thumright:

remember-- plenty of water----- OR--- just drink the daily RAIN :BangHead:

Hiya Port! Yeah, I'm going to see if I can clean up the CW button next time I'm at John's. Thanks for the IDs on some of our unknowns. Makes sense as there was a farrier and blacksmith on the property long ago. John must have hundreds of those square nails. Any idea how old they are? Hope you've been well, take care. -L&J

Congrats on the CW button....I'm still on the hunt for one...so much history there !
