✅ SOLVED Civil War Button???

Got out the other night before all this rain we're having here in the Northeast.

Nothing but clad, wheat penny, and these two buttons. First button is a one piece concave button with a broken shank and evidence of gold gilt. Second button, two piece, the front is in rough shape but I make out in Eagle, some gold gilt. On the reverse there is writing because the shank is bent over it covers up I believe one or two other letters but what I can make out is this:

A RICH M&C

ID help would be appreciated.

it is believed that this is the marking of Meredith & Capner who was located in Birmingham, England.
