Awesome find. Allegheny should represent the Allegheny arsonal from Pittsburgh. I believe that's the model 1859? Great first relic. Keep it swinging. :icon_pirat:
 

SC 0070 - Very nice model 1859 spur marked Allegheny Arsenal (Pennsylvania). It has a smooth, dark chocolate patina, complete with rowel. Recovered at Brandy Station. *$244.99 Sold

Nice find,

I've hunted around the aersonal before. Found some 3 ringers .69 cal. Guys over the yrs have found handfuls of bullets at this site. It is now a old park. I used to go to school right across the st from it.

There was a major explosion there back in the day that killed alot of people. Women and children were killed. I think a spark from the horses foot kicked up and ignited gun powder. I forget the whole story. Very interesting though.

The explosion there in 1862 was the largest civilian disaster during the Civil War. Here is a story on it:
