This property belongs to my family. When we were restoring the house whe added a bedroom off the back and that is where it got interesting. The house was built around 1870 however the home next door was built around 1810 and the one next to it in th mid 1700's. Plenty of history there. The property directly next door was a generals private residence and headquarters during the civil war. Where this property stood was a vacant lot at the time. The generals name was Isaac Stevens and he was from NY. You might notice that one of these buttons happens to be a NY Staff(I would love to believe it was his) not likely. These buttons along with the clipped corner plate posted earlier were all found in the back yard of the home posted here. Tons of stuff pops up from time to time. I keep this property in reserve when I don't have time to look for new sites. This one is not going away any time soon. One of the cuff 2 piece buttons was silvered. Waterbury Button Co. Back mark. Were these common? Thanks for viewing. Thought these were interesting.
