Civil War Era? (Probably Not)

Hi.

Went detecting at a civil war camp. Found a few verifiable items and this, which seems to be the only modern piece. It is about 3.5" long by 2.5" tall. Slightly concave. My guess is a lady's sash/scarf/belt clasp. Seems to be made of tin. I guess I just want someone in the know to say:

"Kevo, that's modern junk, throw it out."

I second your opinion on the ladies decorative piece. It looks like there was once a bar that went across the middle, which is now missing. I've found similar looking hair clips that were a bit smaller.
