Hello all of you people that are smarter than I am. I went detecting this evening on my mothers property. She has a couple of old barns and a foundation from an old barn that burnt down in the late 1970's. The buildings show up on an 1873 plat map, and at one time belonged to the people who owned the house across the road. I found this coin like token thing and have no idea what it is. One side reads "The Union must and shall be Preserved Jackson". The other side reads "First in War, First in Peace 1863". So if you have a thought or know what it is, please inform the rest of us. Thank you.
