Civil War Finds-Sweet!

All found today on a Maryland battle site. I'm thinking that the tin was used for caps? Anyone seen one of these before? There is a loose ring inside it to prevent crushing and the top appears to be hand painted.

Last photo is all of the days finds: Large penny (Unreadable date), one marble, one fired 3 ringer, one muskett ball, and a 1973 penny. Great day for me and we had lots of fun.

Good find on the tin, very cool......It was alot of fun today. Very good weather........................
