Civil War Keeper or Trash Bucket?

Found this in a field where I have found a couple dropped 3 ringers, 2 large cents, a couple buckles and a whole lot of farm odds and ends that get thrown in the junk bucket. Looks familiar enough that I thought I’d ask the experts here before I write it off. Thanks.

It is an iron back post Civil War bridle rosette. A keeper in my book, though.

If in doubt never throw away ! When I was younger I threw away what I now know was good stuff. I regrett it!!
