Civil War mystery find

Anybody recognize this artifact? I found it metal detecting on private land within a known Civil War battlefield. It's copper or brass. A fired minie ball was found close by. A buddy thought it might be a 6th corps insignia badge...

Nothing CW that I recognize. Wrong type of fasteners for a hat badge.

Maybe a small cover of some type off a tractor engine...
