I was out on a new permission and I was digging a bunch of scraps of lead, brass, copper and can slaw. So after about 2 hours of nothing I decided to head back towards the truck and got a screamer of a signal and I thought it would be more junk but as I cleaned it up I could see the tip of a wing, to bad the plow got it. When I got home and cleaned it up I new I had some kind of plate, a friend gave an ID and a pick of a straight one. What an awesome way to finish the year.

Awesome save, any chance it can be restored?

Nice save. There are pros who can bend it back into shape without damaging it, FYI.

Yes,, that plate can be professionally straightened and restored to it's former glory.
Well worth the cost.
Congratulations

There are folks that professionally repair and restore Civil War Belt Plates and other items. I am sure someone will chime in with the info if requested.

I didn't see the previous two posts before I replied, so sorry!
