I dug this today in a civil war camp and I believe it is brass. Do you know what it is?

VADigger, we'll need the dimensions, length/width to help determine what it is and any other info you have about it. Breezie

I have dug some hanging scales that looked real similar to the object you have. Is there any markings on it?

Is it fairly thick, or is it thin and springy?

IT is pretty thick. I can bend it with some force but I dont want to bend it anymore. Would more pictures help?
