Found a buckle in my yard by the barn. Had a hard time finding a match until I saw it called a bulls eye pattern… anyway I know lots of people like to say the heart buckle guards are civil war but they are / can be much more modern. Seeing this listed on worth point as civil war makes me believe it could be, I guess I don’t really know anything about worth points reputation… so is this really civil war or just another misrepresentation?

Nice one.
I always thought Worth point was pretty good in the descriptions.
I'm always open ears to hear if their embellish stuff to get readership.

I have found a few heart buckle shields and from what I understand, they are post CW. At least the patent is later than the CW

Yeah I think the heart ones are suspect, not saying they aren’t civil war but like you said the patent is later and I think they were made into the 20th century so not the diagnostic civil war artifact some claim, i suppose this is probably in the same boat, but I tend to trust worth point so maybe?

WorthPoint neither values items nor describes them. It's just a reference archive for eBay and other auction listings which have closed. It needs to be treated with the same scepticism as you would give the original listing.

The descriptions are word-for-word taken from what the seller had to say, without any verification of accuracy and the 'values' are the 'sold' prices for the listing.

Good to know I never looked close but figured it was a stand alone auction site, I’ll keep that in mind from now on
