Civil war related or old air fitting?

Dug this on the edge of a field that had civil war activity. Also homes near by. Cant make up my mind to what it is. Part of me thinks it attaches to a ramrod, the other part of my brain says since it has a hole all the way through its a grease or air fitting? Appears to be brass or copper

Help please

COULD be A Muzzle loader patch SWAB !!

Not positive but I think gare’s right, it resembles the tip of a ram rod

It seems small for a ramrod tip. My first thought was part of an acorn from a slouch hat cord. But I can't find an exact match.
