Civil War Rivet??

Found what looks like a rivet on civil war camp site ground here in Richmond Va. There definitely seems to be a raised design on front it(see photo) looks like a bugle or cannon or something at first I thought it was just an outline from dust but running my finger over it you can feel the design. Any ideas?

From the picture really hard to say. I've found my share of civil war rivets from horse tack etc a few with stars on them.
Is that leather still attached to it?

Here is a side view and close up of design on front. Not sure if it is leather attached as it is a ball of rust. Thanks for your help

Might have been part of a closure for something like a cartridge pouch
