Hoping you guys can help me out. Is there an online resource that lists all of the pieces and parts of the equipment and uniforms issued to soldiers during the Civil war with reference photos?
Or even a book with reference photos that could be used to identify relics that you find?
What do you guys use for relic identification?

I find all these little pieces and have no idea if they were part of an old washing machine or a cannon!

We can ID old washing machines as well as cannons. Post some pics and let’s see what you got.

(Not meant to sound harsh)

Yes, a lot of dig Civil War so should be good, or semi good, at identification. Just post some pics, that will be the fastest way for an ID.

Ok, here are a couple of things I found in the same hole. I just put the nickel there for size reference.
The ring looks brass.
And the doohickey May be brass.
Any idea what it is?
Or what the brass ring as well?
I did find what I think to be camp lead near the same area as well.
