I found this buckle today in an area I have recovered many civil war relics. It is a little larger than a US sword plate. The tongue is still on the back and you can see where the other attachment points were. Has anyone seen one like this or have any thoughts on it?

Nice find. I'm wondering if this may have been a late war Confetrit' piece sent from home.

I've thought it could be a plate a soldier brought along or even some odd ball militia plate. I can't really find something similar though and its bugging me haha
