Rings with that type of encrustation from the Gulf are usually silver.
 

Most of the spots I hunt are early 1900's to 1970's. I can generally date a ring by the coins dug. Also a little research on the history of the beach/area might add to the date of. Looks vintage, but no earlier then the 1900's. I would clean it and check for worn/faint Sterlings or 925 marks, either of those would give you a better idea of the date. Good Luck.

When I was a silver/gold jewelry producer, I would buy that pattern in wax for the lost wax method and that was in the 1970’s. That pattern has been available for years prior to the 70’s. So my guess without looking on the inside of ring for any marks would be 40’s through to the 70’s.
