Beach hunting today was alright, we had a great sunrise and me and the kid had a good time there. Coinage came easy enough though not all that plentiful. Mayo got some bling and enough clad to share in vendoteria glory. No bling for me, Lil' Lowbatts got a cute pendant and appears to have outscored Mayo and me together but it's all good, I'll confiscate it for my vendoteria needs.

Hit up some sidewalk work on the way home and I managed a 189X (maybe 1896) IH and some extra clad out of the dirt and the excavators pitched in with their mem cents.

BTW, attention all mud-humping puddle-pickers. Lower Lincoln Park Lagoon has been drained. There is some excavation in the middle of it. Keep your eyes open for dredging and removal of dirt there, could be a silver mine in the offing.

WHoa!

Glad to hear you three had a relaxing day at the beach. . . this weekend is gunna be brutal :help:

Thanks for sharing that with the forum on the lagoon....

Maybe it will turn out like the beach hunt at Jackson park...

Hope you did well at the tear-up today. Got to be some great coins there!

Hey! I'm NOT an old hood...

A Lincoln Park Pirate perhaps
To me way hey tow them away
the Lincoln Park Pirates are we
From Wilmette to Gary
there's nothin so hairy
and we always collect our fee

I'm hoping for dirt piles to appear someplace accessible in Lincoln Park
I'm in the mood to plunder...

The beach hunt was fun and easy digging. Even digging a foot and a half down to find the Old Style cans (3 times) wasn't too bad. The clad tallied 9 quarters, 16 dimes, 7 nickels and 9 mem cents.
Not pictured was an Oscar Mayer Wienermobile token made from a roller squashed penny. The wording on it said 1952 Weinermobile Henry Ford Museum
The bling wasn't anything to retire on but was exciting to dig something other than clad. None of this came from underneath the couple that was sleeping it off on the beach under their covers.
