I dont really know that much about marbles but I do have a bunch of them. I just think they are pretty! Are clay marbles worth anything?

No they ain't worth to much, but they sure are fun to find
I like to imagine the kids playing with them back then, the
marbles where proably worth a bunch to them. They proably
didn't have a bunch of toys to play with like nowadays. So
these marbles hold sentimental value to me.

Dugit, Cool marbles! We sometimes find the small clay ones with Indian artifacts here in southeast TN. Don't know, surely someone out here does, but I'm thinking trade marbles? There was one huge marble plant in Atlanta, GA. that made marbles for quite a while before the "Civil War', but when Gen. W.T. "Pyromaniac" Sherman came through he had it torched. (Can't have those evil Southerners manufacturing marbles to shoot at us!! HAHA!) Actually, they were considered quite rare and went for prices upward of 500.00 for certain colors! I add this because the big one in your collection looks like one!? Can't remember the name of the plant, but when the Olympics were held there, some of the land cleared was the site of the factory and I was told by a collector in Chattanooga, TN. that nearly 250,000 were found scattered about!! Needless to say the market took a quick plummet in the old marble scene, as they go for about 3-10 dollars now! Just thought you might find this interesting. Great finds! Good luck and great hunting! Regards, skypilot02 (Richard)

Thanks for that information, I'm always on the lookout for those clay marbles.
I think they are under valued as a collectors item and someday they will be worth
more. You can't find clay marbles just any where.

Happy to help anyway I can! I love those old marbles too! Regards, Richard.
