well last fall a guy asked me if he could dump some clean fill on my land , i asked him where it came from, he said i expanded my businesses parking area and removed some soil and turf. so i let him dump about thirty yards of dirt. i decided ill go see whats in it. first dig produced a 1941 mercury dime. ye haa hopefully more will come from this massive pile. ill keep you all posted. hopefully tommorrow ill see what else there is. seeing how we have frost in the ground here this is great the dirt was like digging in sand. compared to the concrete type soil with roots galore is what im used to. kiddrock33

Sounds good, hope to hear it was littered with more.

Nice dig, fill dirt is always worth checking when it come from an old town spot. Congrats.

nice find. silver is always nice to find.

all my years digging i think this is my second silver coin. lots of clad. do you think it might be because i use a whites prism 2 or is it because silver rings up as aluminum

Congrats on the silver

I had some masons coming in to brick up an opening and they dumped a pile of sand in my driveway the night before. So I decided to check it just for the heck of it and I found a couple beat up wheaties!!! I could not stop laughing!

Makes me wonder about a spot right near my house where the town temporarily dumps piles of dirt, pavement, sidewalks etc.

Maybe I should call the town for permission :)

second coin dug was a clad penny the third is a 1943 p nickel . looks good so far.

Sounds like a good idea. Even if you didn't find any coins you got some fill dirt.

Now thats what I call luck. They bring the finds to you. HH....

Good thinking.
