At lunch, I went back to the area in the woods that I found the 3-ringer bullets, buttons, oval pin, etc. last week. I am digging up even the slightest signals since some of these finds are buried deep after years of being in the woods. I am also moving branches out on my way, just so I don’t pass something over that may have been missed. It may take me a while to go through 190 acres by myself, but I am truly enjoying hunting in the woods.
Today’s lunch turned up a few more relics in the same area as I found some of the others.
Hopefully I found an area of CW troop activity. It is heavily wooded and very close to a stream, so it would have made a great camp spot. I can also see a few other dried up creeks in this area.
My finds today were:
*Another 3-ringer bullet.
*A 19cm one piece flat front button with “TREBLE GILT” on the back.
Circa early to mid 1800’s is my guess.
*A round who knows what. It has parallel rings around the edge. Not spiral threads. There is what looks to be a gold gilt on the inside of the ring. This was found within a few feet of the 3-ringer.
Junk?
*A decorative copper piece that I’m pretty sure used to be the handle of a whisk broom. There are bristles inside of this handle.
Any idea how old this may be? CW related?
Could it be one of the brushes like in this CW surgery medical kit?

Thanks for looking,
MM
