Hello everyone, havne't been on much lately with the busy holiday stuff going on. Been olive oil soaking the 1861 civil war token and the english penny (I think that's what it is) from earlier in November. They both cleaned up well but the large coin is just too worn down to get any kind of image, I'm really bummed as I was hoping for some kind of a date. I'm thinking that it's late 1700's though.
Both coins are actually darker, my scanner doesn't scan dark cions very well so I used my "all in one" Lexmark scanner/printer to modify the pic to lighten and show more detail.

Here's the before and after pics, Thanks for looking!

Chris

Got me there, what's that? I don't knwo too much about cleaning other than the obvious "don't do it" rule. I'll have to look that one up.

Thanks! Now I need a coin tumbler too.

Right on Jake !! ?Blue Ribbon does wonders on copper coins.

If you can not find any, WD-40 can do the trick too ( & I just KNOW anyone can find that ?;) )
