I ran a batch of clad using a small amount of soap, aquarium rocks, and water. The problem is we lost power for about 2 hours after I had run them for about 4 hours. I restarted it after the power came back on, but the coins came out stained. Is there anything I can do to reverse this? Would vinegar, salt, and little lemon take the staining off if I re-tumble them?

chlorine and rocks would

Make sure you do the Quarters, dimes and nickels and NO Cents. I tumble mine overnight and come out looking lke new. Do the pennies by themselves.

Try tumbling them for 30 mins with apple cider vinegar and salt. Do not mix pennies.

Thanks, I did the pennies separately and they came out ok. I'll try the vinegar and salt and see if that does the trick. Just need 'em clean enough to feed the coinstar.

There is absolutely no need to clean your clad, other than washing off any dirt. Just run it through a coin counting machine at your bank or a coinstar and 99% will go through just fine.

Don't worry about staining as long as they are clean of dirt and grit, then take them to the bank and cash them in.

Cleaning Clad

Ok, I'm convinced. I'm taking them to the bank tomorrow. This is the first time I've cashed in the clad we've found over the last few years and I'm going to turn it into a silver coin to add to the collection. Thanks everybody, for your help.

That's awesome !! I also change my clad to silver.... Well when I don't turn it to beer but my gold always turns to silver :) I want my own silver hoard mwa mwa mwaa
