One of my favorite stories goes back to when Clive wrote and published his first major non-fiction work: Maybe the Sea Hunters
I submitted a rough treatment about the Jupiter Wreck. The publisher sent me a short letter stating they did not want to publish the non-fiction work by Cussler but he was one of their most successful authors and he forced them to publish it! Then they closed the letter stating that in the future if I was to send them any correspondence, to please include a self addressed envelop!

So went that literal effort...
