Today's finds were just $1.22 in clad and 2 keys. One is your normal house key, but then I also dug this. I think it's some type of clock key. What do you guys think? I almost didn't dig it, as it ID'd like a pull tab and I was tired of digging them, but it was close to the surface and the signal was a little more consistent than a pulltab so I did. When I dug it out I was quite pleased as I think it's pretty neat looking.

A Clock Key Would Have A Bigger Head on It. Think it is for a Cabinet or Dresser. trk5capt...

Keep It Up! & Good Luck! Ruck.

Maybe it's for a small chest....of......gold. Neat key, Skane.

Neat find, WTG!!!
I love finding the older looking keys...
Good luck, & Happy hunting~

Very nice key, probably 1800's :) Does resemble the fake ones for handcuffs, but I dont think thats what it is. Its most likely to an old peice of furniture, like a trunk, dresser, cabinet, etc...

That is a neat looking key!

Congrats on your find.

;)

Yes pretty cool looking key. It looks like one that would go to a dresser. My Aunt had one that looked similar to yours.

Nice find. It could very well be a piano key as well. They have the single square tooth. :)

That sure looks like a handcuff key. If it's about two inches long that's what it is. Here's a pic of what they look like today. I have a box of them... you get two with every pair you buy.

My guess would be a key to a set of toy handcuffs. Here is a pic of the key to my nephews toy handcuffs. Whatever it goes to, still a good find!!

OK DigEmAll, why do you have all those pairs of hand cuffs?

I'LL NEVER TELL!!!!! ::) ;D ::) ;D ::) ;D 8)

No, really it's work related... they issue us the cheap S&W cuffs. I have personally seen three pairs of those destroyed by arrestees. I have also seen a pair that wouldn't unlock after being applied. That made for an interesting evening... luckily I had seen an inmate destroy a pair and knew how to do it! That being said, I have about five pair of Peerless cuffs and about five pair of leg irons. And like I said, you get two with each pair! I like the Peerless cuffs much more than the S&W's... mostly because of the way they double lock, but also they just feel better... well, not if you're wearing them!
;D ;D ;D
