I have a original william Baxter Closson painting from New England.
Closson gave this painting and others to my great great grandparents, out side of boston.
Story is, painting were offered as payment, possibly for equipment, tools.
our family owned a hardware store back in the time period. I think Newton Mass
Painting has never left the family, never seen by public.
always hung on walls with no direct sunlight, its dirty.
I own it and considering selling it.
I know the rules here, not trying to sell it on this forum.
Point is I dont have accesss to any auctions history of this artist.
size - inside frame 11 3/4 X 16"
outside frame 25.5 X 17.5
Due to the label on back, its all original.
your thoughts are appreciated - oh - theres 17 of his paintings are in the smithsonian
