One of the button experts has to chime in on this one. I don't find many buttons so even though this one is in tough shape, I'd like to hear the opinions. Can't find any pics that match in the databases.

Its a pewter 18th C civilian button. If you don't preserve this one, it will turn to dust in a year or so.

Crusader...whats the procedure for preserving a pewter button. It is already very fragile. Also, cant find a picture anywhere that matches up with this button.

PM IP & and send a link to this & ask him, be quick, if you have let it dry out for two days, its already at a point to start doing something. The wax I use will take days to get hold of. IP should help, he will suggest the best way. It may end up looking lacquered but better than dust.
