Newbie here and I just want y'all to identify this.
(Also I am from south Texas, and just a few hundred feet from a river)

I found this arrowhead (or whatever it was used for) in the backyard of my local library after they had plumbing issues resolved. I found it around 6 years ago, but never got much into finding out what it really is. My mom works at the local junior college and brought it to the Geology teacher, where he became excited about it being a Clovis point. I would like for it to be, but I don't think it is wide enough and it doesn't have the distinctive bevel on the bottom. Mine looks as if it had been broken off. If anyone could give me hints to what they think it could be, that would be great!

Too easy, buddy.

That is a beautiful example of a Firstview.

Dates from ~9000 - 6700 B.C.

Gotta love those pieces that have been associated with the Cody Complex!

Doesn't appear Clovis to me, but a very nice find indeed!

Really nice point even though not Clovis, I would consider just as good.

Would have been a killer....but still nice find!

:hello: Welcome to TNET!

Your artifact is not a Clovis Point, but looks very much like a paleo knife and a fine example at that. Too bad it was broken, what a heartbreaker.

Still a great find, & nice looking piece.

I AGREE WITH DENNIS. LOOKS LIKE A PALEO KNIFE....NICE FIND. PROBERLY A HUNTING CAMP THERE ON THE PROPERTY.

I'd probably call it an Agate Basin more than a Firstview, but hey it's paleo and it's cool. That's the most important part.
