Looks like some sort of links but its stiff as a board. The amount of rust matches up with other CW period items that I found at this site. Found near Williamsburg.

It's a piece of a roller link chain out of an old manure spreader.

Yupp.. but a lot a old farm equipment used em back then... but its definitely a chain off something
